Which From address must I use?

Match the authenticated sender address to the group's member or restricted-sender rules.

The authenticated From address must be allowed

TellTell uses the address authenticated by the sending mail provider. A display name, forwarding rule, or another address delivered to the same inbox does not make two From addresses interchangeable.

Sender permission is checked against the authenticated From address on every incoming group message.

  3. 3Explicitly allowed people
  4. 4Explicitly allowed email addresses

Who is allowed in each mode

  • Members: active email addresses belonging to effective group members may send. Account Admins and Managers assigned to the team may also send with their primary login address.
  • Restricted: account Admins, Managers assigned to the team, and the people or email addresses explicitly listed in group settings may send.

When unsure, open the group, choose Settings, and review Who can send. Then compare the listed address character for character with the From address in your sent message.
